An employee had taken on the responsibility of picking up the weekly takeout lunch that he and his colleagues had together, using their money to get the food. He hadn't told them that he got a 10% discount in most of the places that they frequented, meaning he got $1-2 back per person.
When the coworkers found out about this, many were offended that he hadn't told them. They accused him of trying to profit from their team lunches. The employee felt that since the money was a pretty negligible amount and he had to pay for gas, it wasn't a big deal.
